It depends on the agent being able to reach the site, read the offer, verify the seller and complete the purchase path, not on the business being mentioned. (https://conversionvector.com/agent-conversion#agent-conversion) - AI visibility: How often a business is mentioned or cited in answers from AI assistants. A prerequisite for agent conversion, and a different measurement: visibility counts mentions, conversion counts completed choices. (https://conversionvector.com/agent-conversion#ai-visibility) - Agent Conversion Score: A 0 to 100 measure, published by ConversionVector, of whether an AI shopping agent can read, trust and transact with a website. Forty-nine checks in two sub-scores, Agent Choice and Agent Checkout, combined as a funnel; three checks cap the score when they fail. (https://conversionvector.com/agent-conversion#agent-conversion-score) - Agent Choice: The part of the Agent Conversion Score that measures whether an AI agent can find, read, trust and recommend a business: access for agent identities, legible offers, clear prices and terms, and a verifiable seller. (https://conversionvector.com/agent-conversion#agent-choice) - Agent Checkout: The part of the Agent Conversion Score that measures whether an AI agent can complete a purchase: guest checkout, a cart and checkout agents can reach, no captcha before payment, and discovery for agent checkout such as a UCP profile, an ACP document, an MCP endpoint or a product feed. (https://conversionvector.com/agent-conversion#agent-checkout) - Agent funnel: The six stages an agent passes through to buy: landed, found product, confirmed offer, added to cart, reached checkout, ready to pay. Each is a measurable gate with a drop-off, like any funnel. (https://conversionvector.com/agent-conversion#agent-funnel) - Agent readiness: The set of conditions a site must meet for agents to work with it: open access for named agent identities, structured and server-rendered offers, discoverable policies, guest checkout, and discovery documents such as a UCP profile or an MCP endpoint. (https://conversionvector.com/agent-conversion#agent-readiness) - Agent blocking: A site refusing AI agents through robots rules, WAF categories, user-agent blocklists or challenge pages. Often unintended: default settings in bot-protection products now block the agent category on many pages. (https://conversionvector.com/agent-conversion#agent-blocking) ## How the Agent Conversion Score works - Two sub-scores: Agent Choice (can an agent find, read, trust and recommend you); Agent Checkout (can an agent complete the purchase). - Agent Conversion Score = Agent Choice × (0.7 + 0.3 × Agent Checkout / 100), then caps. A funnel rather than an average: a closed checkout limits the score instead of being averaged away, but a site agents can recommend still converts through the human handoff, so it is not zeroed. The checkout share rises in future versions as agent-completed purchases become common. - Access (Agent Choice): Can agents reach the site at all? - Legibility (Agent Choice): Can an agent read the offer without guessing? - Offer clarity (Agent Choice): Is there one clear, verifiable offer? - Transactability (Agent Checkout): Can an agent get to payment? - Trust (Agent Choice): Can an agent verify who it is buying from? - Caps: Product pages return 200 to agent identities (no 403, 429 or challenge) (cap 40); Offer with a numeric price in JSON-LD (cap 50); Guest checkout is available (cap 60). ## Benchmarks (published data) - [Agent-readiness benchmark: outdoor and footwear brands](https://conversionvector.com/benchmarks/outdoor-footwear-2026-10) (2026-10-17, 24 brands): Twenty-four outdoor and footwear brands, scored on whether an AI shopping agent can read, trust and buy from them. Agents can read these sites far better than they can buy from them: median Agent Choice 77, median Agent Checkout 43. Nobody has done the checkout plumbing yet, and the brands at the top are mostly there because their platform did it for them.
